Subjects

The vocabulary the register and the map filter on. Renaming changes the word a reader sees, and nothing else.

The URL identifier and the match key stay put: one appears in links people have saved, the other is what makes the next doléance using the old word join this subject instead of starting a second one. To make two subjects one, merge them from the curation queue.
